The Chief of the Sri Lankan Armed Forces contingent assisting relief and rescue work in Nepal, Major General Maithri Dias stated that, more than 2,500 victims, including 800 who were injured following the calamitous earthquake in Nepal were provided with treatment.
Meanwhile, Minister of Disaster Management A.H.M. Fousie stated that the Government of Sri Lanka will send an additional cargo flight on Monday (May 11th), airlifting relief material consisting of medicine, water, food and warm clothes for distribution to the needy.
He went on to note that the Prime Minister has promised the Nepal Government to restore a Buddhist temple which was destroyed during the disaster.
