Visiting Senior leader of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janatha Party(BJP), L. Ganesan, met with Resettlement Minister D.M. Swaminathan in Colombo and attended a press conference, following a meeting on Tuesday, May 5.
Ganesan stated that the Tamils and the Tamils in Sri Lanka feel a ray of hope since the new government was sworn in. He went on to note that he had been in the country for the past four days and that he had used this opportunity to meet many people from various walks of life, prior to the “Kamman Karham” meeting.
He further stated that he was happy to hear the statement delivered by President Sirisena upon the completion of the 100 day programme, where he specifically noted that Sri Lanka is not for one particular race but for all the people.
