Today is the third and final day of the Sirasa Vesak Kalapaya organised by The Capital Maharaja Organisation Limited, hand in hand with John Keells Holdings PLC.
The Sirasa Vesak Kalapaya houses the sacred relics of the Lord Buddha and the Maharahath Theros and the sacred relics of Sariputta and Moggallana.
The Sirasa Vesak Kalapaya also showcases Vesak lanterns, the tele thorana, as well as Bhakthi Gee performances.
Several dhansalas have also been organised for the benefit of the devotees arriving in their numbers to the Sirasa Vesak Kalapaya from across the country.
Devotees can also witness the Sobana Maaligaya utilised by Anagarika Dharmapala for the campaigning of the Dhamma.
The tele-thorana being displayed at the Sirasa Vesak Kalapaya depicts the Sanjeevaka, Wedhabha and sareeputha Moggallana Jathaka stories.
The Sirasa Vesak Kalapaya witnessed devotees in their thousands arriving to pay homage to the sacred relics from across the country.
The Sirasa Vesak Kalapaya is being held for the fifth time, at the premises of the head office of the Capital Maharaja Organisation in Braybrooke Place in Colombo 2.
