Sirasa FM donates statues of Lord Buddha to mark 21st anniversary (Watch video)

Sirasa FM commenced a programme on Tuesday, to distribute sedentary statues of Lord Buddha, to devotees visiting the Sirasa Vesak Zone, free of charge.

Ten sedentary statues of Lord Buddha, which had been placed amid the chanting of pirith at the Sirasa Vesak Zone, were symbolically gifted to selected devotees from the Western Province on Tuesday, May 04 morning.

Channel Head Sirasa FM Kingsley Rathnayake noted that with the commecement of the Sirasa Vesak Zone and since this year marks the 21st anniversary of Sirasa FM, this programme was introduced to encourage the spirituality of the country.

He went on to note that these devotees are very fortunate since these statues of Lord Buddha, have been amid the chanting of pirith and the worship of the countless devotees visiting the Sirasa Vesak Zone over the past three days.
