Over fifteen houses have been destroyed due to a strong wind that blew across the Medirigiriya area in Polonnaruwa.

According to the Deputy Director of the DMC, Pradeep Kodippili, the destruction occurred between 5 and 5:30 on Sunday evening.

He noted the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.
