The Ministry of Mass Media and Information says that steps have been taken to provide free Wi-Fi facilities to all state institutions.
According to Programme Manager, Gavaskar Subramaniam, the state institutions include district offices and divisional secretariats.
Subramaniam added that the hope was that public sector workers would be able to do their work through the use of wireless internet.
Subramaniam notes that the move comes in line with the programme that is already underway to provide Wi-Fi at all bus halts, public libraries and police stations.
