Nearly 85,000 substandard Buddhist flags which were on sale this Vesak season were confiscated during raids conducted by the Consumer Affairs Authority.
The CAA’s Director General, J.M.A. Douglas stated that several distorted Buddhist flags were also among the confiscated items.
He added that legal action will be taken against the offenders. Furthermore, he noted that steps have been taken to register all Buddhist flag manufacturers with the Department of Buddhist Affairs.
