UPDATE: Special traffic plan in place for John Kerry’s visit

Police Headquarters stated that a special traffic plan will be implemented in Colombo in lieu of the visit of  US Secretary of State John Kerry. Police sources elaborated that motor traffic would be limited on a number of roads in the capital during the course of the visit.

Thus,  the following changes have been planned 7.45 a.m to 8.30 a.m the highway from Katunayake International Airport to the Kelaniya Bridge, Baseline Road, Borella Junction, D.S Senanayake Junction, Kingsey Road, Horton Place, Ananda Kumaraswamy, Road in front of Nelum Pokuna, Liberty Roundabout, St. Michael’s Roundabout, St. Michael’s Road, Galle Road and Modara Roundabout; will come under a limited traffic plan.

From 2 p.m. to 2.30 p.m the Liberty Roundabout, Pittala Junction, Baseline Road, Red Cross Junction, Library Junction, Ananda Kumaraswamy Road, Horton Place, D.S Senanayake Junction, Baseline Junction, Borella Junction, Kelaniya Bridge and the road from the Kelaniya Bridge to the Kelaniya Temple will also experience limited traffic.

From 3.00 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. the Kelaniya Temple, Baseline Road, Borella Junction, Kingsey road, Horton place, Ananda Kumaraswamy Road, Road infront of Nelum Pokuna, Liberty Roundabout, St. Michaels Road, Galle Road and Muwadora Roundabout will be under limited vehicular traffic.

On Sunday, from 10.15 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. the Galle Road and Modara Roundabout, Galle Road, St. Michael’s Rounabout, Liberty Roundabout, Pittala Junction, Ananda Kumaraswamy Road, Horton Place, Baseline road, Borella junction, Kelaniya bridge towards Katunayake highway and the Katunayake International Airport will experience a limited flow of traffic.
