March 8, 1971 is a day remembered by many sports fanatics as the day Ali faced off with Fraizer. It was called the fight of the century.

It was a fight that pitted everything against everything. Almost after 40 years ,the same earthquake of a match up has been decided for this generation. Floyd Mayweather versus Manny Pacquio has been dubbed the fight of the century and has the class to out do its predecessor from 1971.

Since 2009 the fight was brewing in backrooms and meetings but it never hit the outside world. But after many setbacks and, the failure to make the Mayweather–Pacquiao fight, being named The Ring magazine 2010 Event of the Year , the fight had to happen.

2015 came with better news as the announcement was made for the fight to be held in Vegas at the MGM grand on the 2nd of May.

For not so sports enthusiast, the fight may not be a ground-shaking event of the century it claims to be. But since the fight comes with hefty price tags like both players will be splitting 150 million dollars upward, or the fight itself is expected to gross over 400 million, it is an event to make anyone’s head turn.

Manny Pacquiao, is a Philippine national and comes in to the fight with speedy-south paw style. He has an outstanding record of 57 wins and 5 losses in 64 fights.With 38 knockouts under his belt he is also an 8-division world champion with ESPN claiming him to be the 2nd best pound for pound boxer.

Then there is his opponent, Floyd ‘Money’Mayweather Jr. Number one pound for pound boxer. Mayweather has had a clear record with 47 wins in 47 fights and 26 knockouts. The trash talking undefeated boxer comes in to the ring with a calculated orthodox style boxing.

The fight will be held under the welterweight class and is the talk of the boxing world right now.
