Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa revealed on Thursday that he warned his Brother Basil Rajapaksa that he would be arrested if he returned to the country.
Speaking to the media during an event in Matale, the former president stated that MP Basil did not heed his advice as he did not want to be labelled a thief. According to Mahinda Rajapaksa, Basil Rajapaksa returned to the country because he believed that he had committed no act of wrong-doing.
Commenting on the current Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, the former president stated that there are a number of allegations against her as well. He noted that the current director general allegedly cleared 50 acres of land in the Knuckles Reserve.
