Right-handed batsman Ashan Priyanjan was named captain of the Sri Lanka Cricket A team for the ODI tournament against the Pakistan A team despite the fact that the Sri Lankan A team squad was named earlier.

The SLC issuing a statement on Tuesday, April 21  and stated that Ashan Priyanjan of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority team was appointed the skipper of the Sri Lankan A team. Twenty-five-year-old Ashan, who is an old boy of Nalanda College has scored an aggregate of 402 runs in 21 ODIs.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani A team will be lead by 29-year old left handed batsman Fawad Alam. Alam has scored 962 runs in 37 one day internationals. The Pakistani A team is due to arrive in the country on Saturday and the tournament will commence on April 26  at the Uyanwatta Stadium in Matara.
