President Maithripala Sirisena had made a pledge to party leaders on Sunday that Parliament will only be dissolved when the 20th Amendment to the Constitution including electoral reforms are adopted.
Speaking to News1st, Opposition leader Nimal Siripala De Silva said the President made this pledge at the Party Leaders Meeting at the Presidential Secretariat on Sunday morning.
Earlier Sunday afternoon MP Dinesh Gunawardena, the leader of the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna noted that the president had given assurances with regard to the 20th Amendment to the Constitution
