A police officer has been arrested in connection with a shooting that took place at the Jathika Namal Uyana.

Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said that the shooting had occurred following a dispute the police officer had with the Venerable Wanawasi Rahula Thero, who resides at the Jathika Namal Uyana.

The Police Media Spokesperson said that during the dispute, the police officer had fired shots into the air, adding that there were no injuries reported.
