The Army says that 11,614 army absentees have reported to their Regimental Centres in response to the general amnesty to facilitate absentees of the military to receive their discharge from the Army.
Acting Military Spokesperson Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera said that the general amnesty period was granted from April 2 – 16
Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera noted that those absentees who have not reported to their regiment centres, do have the opportunity till the 16th to do so and receive their official discharge.
