Sajith Premadasa the Minister of Housing and Samurdhi says that the investigations carried out on the financial malpractices that had taken place at the Ministry of Samurdhi are over.
The Minister made these statements during an event in Tissamaharama on Sunday.
An event was held to donate building material for the ongoing construction of a new building which will be used as a monastery for monks at the Subodharama Viharaya in Kohombagahapalessa in Tissamaharama.
This event was held under the auspices of Minister Sajith Premadasa.
Speaking at the event, the Minister said that the person who stole money from his ministry is abroad, adding that they have failed to nab this person because he is facing a situation where he cannot come back to the country.
He went on to note that the funds set aside for the Samurdhi beneficiaries have been stolen in broad day light.
