The Central Environmental Authority has stated that legal action will be taken against the ten polythene manufacturers who failed to meet the standards of the Central Environmental Authority.

President of the Authority, Lal Dharmasiri said that accused have carried out polythene production contrary to the laws of the Central Environmental Authority.

He added that production of polythene bearing less than 20 microns is prohibited in this country.
