On Tuesday, April 2, Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe spoke in Parliament on the progress of the 100-day programme.
Speaking at the Parliament the Prime Minister said that the cost of living index is continually dropping for the first time and it is a special victory of the Maithripala Regime.
Speaking further, he said that what we could see in the past was cutouts of the Rajapaksa family in every nook and cranny when we walked the streets adding that there are no billboards and cutouts bearing the images of politicians now.
The PM went onto say that back in the day newspapers were full of articles that carried appraisals of the Rajapaksa family adding that there was not a single paper that was published without an advertisement praising the Rajapaksas.
He noted that there is freedom to express ideas and criticise the government.
