Six Sri Lankan fishermen who were detained by the Indian authorities have been released.
Assistant Director of the Department of Fisheries Lal de Silva stated that they were handed over to local authorities by the Indian Coast Guard on Monday.
The fishermen who had sailed from Trincomalee were detained recently.
Lal de Silva added that currently five more fishermen are being detained by the Indian authorities.
