Not a national govt but a joint govt : K D Lalkantha

Politburo member of the JVP, K.D. Lalkantha said that the current government is not a national government but a joint government.

He made this statement at a summit held in Colombo on Thursday.

The 15th Summit of the Inter University Services Trade Union was held on Thursday under the auspices of JVP Politburo member K.D. Lalkantha

Speaking at the event, K.D. Lalkantha said that if it is a national government, there cant be an opposition. But there is an opposition in Parliament. This is indeed a SLFP – UNP partnered government.

He added that what was done on the 8th was sending Mahinda home but the corrupt still remains. If they want to arrest the wrong-doers the CID has compiled the files and has submitted them but they are not being arrested for political reasons.

”There is an inauspicious time even in politics; what has happened now is  -what I meant by going to temple was  – the 19th amendment it is good. It is as if going to temple during in the inauspicious time, but they are not catching the thieves. They have paved the way for the thieves, K.D. Lalkantha further added.
