Police say investigations are continuing to arrest the suspects in connection to the murder of the Chairman of the Rathgama PS Manoj Pushpakumara Mendis.

Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara stated that a special investigation has begun into the incident, headed by an Assistant Superintendent of Police.

Police added that a name of a gunman was mentioned in the statement recorded by an individual who was injured in the incident. Police stated that they are carrying out investigations to arrest this suspect.

The shooting which took place at around 11.45 p.m. on Monday in a hotel in Hikkaduwa. Initial investigations revealed that four suspects were involved in the shooting.
