A group of high level representatives of the European Union is due to arrive in the country on Monday, March 23, to have discussions on reinstating the GSP plus programme to Sri Lanka.
The official website of the President stated that the EU representatives will reach a final decision subsequent to talks with the Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiyutheen.
The European Union withheld the GSP Plus concessions from Sri Lanka in the year 2010 alleging that the country had violated human rights.
The official state website further noted that the ban had been imposed with respect to 300 apparel items.
