Work commenced on Saturday to repair some of the damage caused, following the suspension of the Colombo Port City Project.
Following a request made to the cabinet by the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation Arjuna Ranatunga, permission has been granted to build a 50 metre-long protective wall for the marina revetment at the Port City Project.
Senior Engineer of Colombo Port City Project, Ramitha Wijesoma said that they are commencing work to repair damage and protect the stock file and the revetment.
He mentioned that they have not received permission to carry out any construction and all they are doing is building the protective walls for what has already been built.
Although work on the Colombo Port City Project was temporarily suspended on March 6, there have been no investigative reports on the project since.
