St. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia clinched a 16-run win, over arch rivals Royal College, Colombo, at the annual one day encounter to win the 40th Mustang Trophy.

Royal College who won the toss at the SSC on Saturday elected to field first. The Thomian batsmen amassed 277 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 50 overs.

Danush Peiris top scored with 64 runs while Haritha Samarasinghe bagged two wickets for 59 runs for Royal College.

The Royalists put up a fight and ensured a competitive game, but fell short of sixteen runs, scoring 261 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 50 overs.
