A Heroes’ Day ceremony organised by the The Ranaviru Seva Authority was held in Kupiyapitiya under the auspices of Chairman of the Authority, Anoma Fonseka.
Financial and physical donations were made to the war heroes who are physically challenged. A medical clinic was also organised for the physically challenged and their family members. Speaking at the event Anoma Fonseka said:
Because we were constantly affected by the war, there is no point in speaking of our history. Now we need to look into the future. Also, we are left with war heroes who are physically challenged. So, I hope that in the future the the Ranaviru Seva Authority can operate in a more efficient manner and do what is required – on time – to move this programme more forward .
