Anti-Capitalist protestors clash with police, set fire to cars in Germany (Video)

An anti-capitalist group of protesters who go by the name of “Blockupy” have begun riots, setting police cars on fire and blocking streets with stacks of burning tyres and trash bins in Frankfurt, Germany.

Blockupy is an anti-capitalist alliance of leftist groups who gather to attract attention to the European central bank policies which, according to the protesters, have favoured the rich over the poor. The current situation across Europe as “the European crisis regime”

The clash occurred hours before the ceremonial opening of the 1.3 billion euro ECB building in Frankfurt but the ceremony took place despite the Blockupy attempts to thwart it.

Over 300 people have been detained at the protest and according to representatives of the Blockupy movement, many of the protesters have been injured by the water cannons used by the police. 88 police officers have been injured in the clashes and tear gas has been used against the Blockupy protesters who pelted stones at the policemen.
