One hundred and sixty eight (168) Indian fishermen in Sri Lankan custody were released by the Sri Lankan Navy to the Indian Coast Guard Department on Tuesday evening.
Acting Army Media Spokesperson Brigader. Jayanath Jayaweera said that 125 fishermen arrived in 18 boats to take the 34 trawlers of the Indian fishermen who were in custody for violating the Sri Lanka maritime boundary.
Meanwhile, a total of 85 Indian fishing vessels are in Sri Lankan custody.
