The Police Financial Fraud Investigation Division interrogated MP Sajin de Vass Gunawardena for nearly three hours on Wednesday March 18, over alleged financial irregularities.

The Police Media Unit stated that the parliamentarian was questioned over alleged financial irregularities said to have taken place in the purchase of 33 vehicles from a state-owned financial institution.

Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said that they questioned him over alleged financial irregularities to the tune of Rs. 170 million that is said to have taken place in the purchase of thirty three cars.
