President Maithripala Sirisena says that if he was handed over the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, he needs to be allowed to operate the party. The Head of State emphasised on this statement addressing the SLFP district and electorate organisers forum on Monday March 16, at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute.
At this event, responsibilities were vested with the SLFP Central Working Committee Members for the forthcoming elections. In addition an Election Committee was also appointed.
The President’s Media Unit said that a code of conduct that SLFP public representatives need to follow was also discussed.
The President’s Media Unit added that the amendments to the constitution and the amendments to the electoral system were discussed along with the stance of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party on the matter.
