The Mundalama Police says that another stash of suspected drugs has been discovered from a shrimp farm owned by a drug trafficker arrested several days ago.

The raid Friday night resulted in the seizure of 13 kilogrammes and 900 grammes of drugs. The Police said that the suspects who were arrested at a shrimp farm in Kanamulla, located Kadayamotta in Mundala are residents from Hatton and Puttlam.

Police Media Spokesperson, ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that during the past few days, the Police Narcotic Bureau carried out a massive heroin raid in Negombo. At present, the suspects are being detained and questioned by the Police Narcotics Bureau.

Information has come to light that a son of one of the suspects owns a shrimp farm. However, only further investigation will reveal whether this is a drug ring and whether the drugs seized Friday are in fact heroin.
