JVP Leader says he will take files on politicians to meeting with President

The JVP is preparing to meet with the president on Monday. It is learnt that the JVP will bring along  files on politicians who wasted public funds.

Leader of the JVP, Anura Kumara Dissanayake made this statement at a public rally on Friday in  the Kaduruwela area in  Polonnaruwa.

Anura Kumara Dissanayake alleged that two days after  elections, “Basil escaped. He escaped. Not only that, there is doubt also whether punishment will actually be meted out on fraud , corruption and waste.:

He added that it is clear that a group of politicians and officials in the government are appearing to protect these fraudulent and corrupt persons.

He further stated that President Maithripala has “requested us to meet him on that day over the complaints that we had made. We will visit him with all the details and stacks of filed. These are accurate information. It shows how wealth was amassed. The people have an expectation that these fraudulent persons need to be punished.”
