Over 40 Indian fishermen released in lieu of Premier Modi’s visit (WATCH REPORT)

Forty three (43) Indian fishermen in Sri Lankan custody were released in Trincomalee on Friday in lieu of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sri Lanka.

The forty three fishermen, who were arrested in the seas off Mullaitivu over the past month were released on Friday on the orders of Trincomalee Chief Magistrate T. Saravanarajah.

The magistrate also ordered the Sri Lanka Nary to escort these fishermen to the Indian maritime border from Kankesanthurai and hand them over to the Indian Navy.
