Maxwell’s century powers Australia to 376 against Sri Lanka

The 32nd encounter between Pool A opponents Australia and Sri Lanka kicked off at the Sydney cricket ground on the morning of Sunday March 8, as the toss winners Australia electing to bat first.

Batting first opener David Warner was dismissed for 9 followed by the dismissal of his partner Aaron Finch for 24.

However, a partnership of 160 between Glenn Maxwell and Shane Watson led Aussies post a score of 376 in their allotted overs.

Thanks to the efforts of Glenn Maxwell who went onto score his maiden century in ODI’s, (102 off 53 deliveries), incidently it also marked the second fastest century scored in a world cup tournament.
