According to the Met Department, there will be showers at several places in the Eastern and Uva provinces of the country.

Showers or thundershowers will develop in the Western, Northwestern, Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts during the afternoon or evening.

There may be temporary localised strong winds during thundershowers and the general public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimise the damages caused by lightning activities.

There will be a few showers in the deep and shallow sea areas off the coast extending from Galle to Trincomalee via Pottuvil.

The Met Department says that winds will be Northeasterly and speed will be 20-40 kph.

The sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam and from Galle to Pottuvil via Matara may be fairly rough at times as winds are likely to strengthen up to 50 kph.
