Parlimentarian Basil Rajapaksa who left the country following the defeat of Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the recently concluded Presidential elections has requested for leave from the parliament.

Opposition leader Nimal Siripala de Silva on Wednesday requested the house to grant leave for the Parlimentarian.

Following this request our correspondent reported that leave was granted for a period of three months for MP Basil Rajapaksa.
