ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 to kick off

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 will kick off at 03.30 a.m. tomorrow Saturday,  Sri Lankan time in Christchurch New Zealand.

The 11th Edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup will take place at Melbourne, Australia and Chirstchurch in New Zeland.

Sri Lanka will take on New Zealand in the opening games of the Cricket World Cup.

On the same day, Australia will take on rival England in Melbourne.

Forty nine (49) games will be played in 43 days at fourteen different venues in New Zealand and Australia, who are incidentally the co-hosts of the tournament.

Fourteen (14) teams will play under the two groups including non-test playing nations Ireland, United Arab Emirates, Scotland and Afghanistan.

Sri Lanka who are ranked 4th in the ICCs ODI ranking will play in the opener on Saturday, and were seen taking part in their final practice session on Friday.

New Zealand, the home favourites, currently ranked 6th in the ICCs ODI ranking, also took part in their final practice on Friday.
