Western Provincial Councillor from the Democratic Party Susil Kindelpitiya attended an event in the Kosgama area in Avissawella on Wednesday night.
This event was organised to create awareness on the current political situation in the country and inquire into the challenges faced by the people.
Speaking at this event, the Western Province Councillor stated that wages of state workers will be increased by Rs. 10,000 by the month of June. He added that this will not solve the problems of the people as the amount is not sufficient. He further stated that it is the government’s responsibility to create a path for each and everyone to earn a stable income every month.
The Councillor further noted that the reduction of the prices on goods will not ease the hunger of the people as they need to be able to afford it.
