Suspicious gunny bags found in premises of former PM’s house

A stock of gunny bags containing suspicious documents have been discovered from a house belonging to a Secretary of Former Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne.

Police said that the house was searched upon receiving a tip-off on documents being concealed in an abandoned well at a house in the Watinapaha area in Minuwangoda.

Further investigations are underway.

Meanwhile, police searched the house of the Former Chairman of the National Lotteries Board in Yakarawatte, Kuliyapitiya under the directive anti-corruption authorities.
