The incessant rains that occurred in the recent past have resulted in a price spike for fruits in the domestic market.

According to our correspondent, the prices of fruits at the Dambulla Economic Centre have seen a similar increase.

The wholesale price of sweet melon was reported to be between Rs.120-140  while the price of one Karthakolomban mango has increased to Rs. 50-60

A source at the Dambulla Economic Centre notes that the prices of Plantains, Papaya and several other fruits have increased.
