Parliament sitting to commence on Tuesday

Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakody said that the Parliament sitting is scheduled to commence on Tuesday.

When News1st made inquiries, he said that the future course of action that need to be taken will be discussed at the party leaders meeting on Monday.

Meanwhile, Parliamentary Secretary Dhammika Dassanayake said that lodging facilities for the 27 newly-appointed cabinet ministers have been put in place.

He added that the sitting pattern for the newly-appointed ministers is yet to be officially announced.

Nimal Siripala de Silva has been appointed Opposition Leader, while W.D.J. Seneviratne has been appointed Chief Opposition Whip.

Meanwhile, Minister Lakshman Kiriella has been appointed leader of the house.

Minister Gayantha Karunathilaka has been appointed the Chief Organiser of the governing party
