Gamini Lokuge has announced that he will step down from his position of Minister of Labour and Labour Relations.

He made this statement while addressing a media briefing at his residence on Saturday.  He stated that he has fulfilled the task rendering his support to Mahinda Rajapaksa to end the war.

He noted that he was appointed as Cabinet Minsiter by Mahinda Rajapaksa, therefore, he will continue to work with him.
