President Mahinda Rajapaksa presented the “Mahinda Chinthana-Lowa Dinana Maga” Presidential Election manifesto to the Maha Sangha, including the chief prelates of the Malwathu and Asgiri chapters, today.

The president, who visited the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and obtained blessings, later visited the Malwathu Maha Viharaya. The President then called on the Chief Prelate of the Siyam Sect of the Malwathu Chapter, the Most Venerable Thibbotuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero, and presented his election manifesto.

The Maha Sangha chanted pirith to invoke blessings on the head of state. Subsequently, the president visited the Asgiri Maha Viharaya and called on the Chief Prelate of the Siyam Sect of the Asgiri Maha Viharaya, the Most Venerable Udugama Sri Buddharakkitha Thero and presented his election manifesto.
