Two women have been killed after they were attacked with a sharp weapon inside a house in the 51st Post area in Mahiyangana.

Police said the deceased are a thirty-year-old woman and her six year old daughter.

The bodies were discovered by neighbours, who then called the police. Mahinyangana Police have commenced further investigations into the incident.
