People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections or PAFFREL, which is an election-monitoring body insists on the active involvement of the police in preventing illegal election propaganda activities that are taking place, targeting the presidential election.
Executive Director Rohana Hettiarachchi says that display of cut outs, banners and maintaining illegal election propaganda offices after the submission of nominations are violations of election laws.

Meanwhile, Police Media Spokesperson Ajith Rohana says that an country-wide campaign is underway to arrest those who violate election laws.
