The Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources says that they will take measures to secure the release of Sri Lankan fishermen under Indian custody, via an exchange of fishermen of both countries.
Acting Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development, Sarath Kumara Gunaratne said that the exchange of documents in this regard is in progress.
The minister said that measures will be taken to release Indian fishermen in Sri Lankan custody and likewise, secure the release of Sri Lankan fishermen in Indian custody.
