Special security plan will come into effect in Colombo tomorrow: Police

Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana stated that a special security plan will be in place in Colombo on Monday, in view of the handing over of nominations for the upcoming presidential election.

The police media spokesperson elaborated:

[quote]A special security plan will be implemented in close proximity of the Elections Secretariat in Rajagiriya. Vehicular movement near the Ayurveda Roundabout, Cotta Road near Welikada Junction as well as the Parliament Road will be one way and will take effect from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the afternoon. Furthermore, only light vehicles, public transport and buses will be allowed to travel on these routes. All other vehicles will have to find alternate routes. Complete closure of this road will take place from 12.30 – 1.30 p.m.[/quote]
