Speaking at an event in Avissawella on Saturday , General Secretary of the JHU or the Jathika Hela Urumaya, Patali Champika Ranawaka commented on the party’s future political actions.
This country including the United Peoples Freedom Alliance need to be rescued from the casino players, drug lords, Ethanol importers and the mega deal players. The President can do this. He will make a promise but will not fulfill it. I know it for sure. What was not done over the past decade will not be done now. The lie that is being spread at present in the country is that the TNA will gain power. How can it be so? They say that if Maithripala Sirisena win, Hakeem will become like a king. Even now, Hakeem is a minister with the government. The other is that how can Ranil Wickremesinghe become the Prime Minister. Let us assume that Maithripala Sirisena won the election What will happen then? There are 123 members of the SLFP in Parliament, and when he wins, those 123 will rally around him. The JVP also needs to be provided space for this. The SLFPers need to take the initiative. The JHU will be there to form that unity. We have only two seats, They questioned as to what we can do? …..
Champika Ranawaka also commented on the economical setbacks.
Jayasundera skims off 48 rupees from a litre of petrol. There is no issue if that done from luxury vehicles. But is it worth it to skim 48 rupees from the innocent three-wheeler drivers and motor-cyclists? The people need to surround the Ministry of Finance for this crime that has been committed .
