The Ravaya newspaper reported that the head of the state intelligence service has been removed from its position based on a report furnished by the organisation on the upcoming presidential election.

According to the newspaper article in question, yet another allegation against the Head of  State Intelligence is that the organisation was not aware of the cross over of a group including Maithripala Sirisena, to the opposition.

Head of State Intelligence Service, DIG Chandra Vakishta said:
I read the article in question. It is completely false. I have not being transferred nor have I furnished such a report. Our institute releases true facts. We do not release imbalance reports. Therefore, I sought the advice of the Attorney General to take legal action in this regard. We also lodged a complaint with the Sri Lanka Press Institute. This article is not true.
