Police have taken three vehicles into custody in connection with the incident where Former UNP Pradeshiya Sabha member, Chamila Ranasinghe was shot.
The shooting took place on November 21 in Maggona during an event celebrating the announcement of the common opposition candidate.
Three vehicles have been taken into custody based on a tip-off given by a witness. Police said that statements from twenty people have been recorded so far.
The three vehicles were found near Panadura and Waskaduwa.
Former UNP Pradeshiya Sabha member, Chamila Ranasinghe, who sustained serious injuries during the shooting, is currently receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.
