The A9 Highway has been temporarily closed due to a protest in Dambulla by big onion farmers.

The police stated that owing to this situation, the Jaffna – Kandy A9 highway from the clock-tower in Dambulla town has been temporarily closed.

The protest was launched by farmers citing that their produce receive unfair market prices due to imports of onions.
