A very strong earthquake measuring M6.8 on the Richter scale was registered in Molucca Sea, Indonesia at 10:10 UTC (18:10 local time) on November 21, 2014.
USGS is reporting depth of 48.2 km (30 miles).
Geoscience Australia is reporting M6.8 at depth of 102 km. The epicenter was located 116 km (72 miles) WNW of Tobelo, 161 km (100 miles) NNW of Ternate and 162 km (101 miles) N of Kota Ternate, Indonesia.
There are about 80 783 people living within 100 km radius. There is no threat of a tsunami, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said.
USGS issued green alert for shaking-related fatalities and economic losses. There is a low likelihood of casualties and damage.
